Welcome to Le Nid
It means bird’s nest. It's a small stone house tucked away on a quiet street in the oldest part of Roquebrun, yet with everything you need within walking distance. A few minutes on foot will take you to the main street of the village, where you will find a baker, a grocery shop and several restaurants. If you feel like going for a swim, the village beach is just across the bridge. At the back of the house there is a large stone terrace with a view of the hills on one side and the village tower on the other. The terrace is almost as big as the house itself, providing areas of both shade and sunshine.
The sitting area on the terrace, which is just off the living room.
The living room has a dining area for four people, and French doors leading onto the terrace.
Le Nid was once two small houses, which is hard to believe, as it’s not very big. The entire house and now been fully renovated, and is let out to guests. It includes a kitchen, a comfortable bedroom with an ensuite bathroom and a spacious living room with access to the terrace. The rooms are snug and cosy, and retain many of their quirks and character, including some odd staircases and low door openings. The foundations of the house date back to medieval times, but the interiors are all new.
The terrace has a dining table for six people and a large stone barbecue.
The kitchen, with stairs leading up to the living room and terrace.
When you enter the house, you come straight into the kitchen, as is the case with most old village houses in Roquebrun. Here you will find a large gas cooker, an undercounter fridge, a slimline dishwasher and a coffee maker. There is also a small table with stools. A short staircase takes you up to the living room, which has French doors leading onto the terrace. In the living room there is a large sofa, an armchair and a dining table for four people.
The house is located in a small street in the village, just behind the Place de l’Eglise. Le Nid is the house with the blue shutters on the left.

A staircase from the living room leads you down to the bedroom, with its ensuite bathroom. It is east facing and keeps quite cool on hot summer days. The bedroom has a double bed (160 x 200) , a clothes rack and a small dresser. There is also an ensuite bathroom with shower, basin and toilet.
The ensuite bathroom has a shower, basin and toilet.
The bedroom is east facing and therefore remains quite cool, even in summer.
Life in the summer is mostly lived outside. July and August are hot, dry months in the village, when you can eat all your meals on the terrace. May, June and September are perhaps the most pleasant of the year, with warm, fine weather and some occasional rain, though it seldom lasts very long.
When you arrive at the house, you can park your car by the church and walk 50 meters to the front door. The parking place operates on a first come, first served basis, but there is always room to drop something or someone off. The house is located at the very top of the village, so by the time you leave, you’ll be in great shape.
In the house you will find:
Free Wi-fi
1 double bed (160 x 200 cm)
1 sofa
An indoor dining table for four people
Dining table for four outside
Gas cooker
Stone barbecue on the terrace
Coffee maker
Dishwasher (45 cm Slimline)
Washing machine
Please note that there is no aircondition or television in the house. You will, however, find a fan in the bedroom and the wi-fi allows for streaming on whichever device you prefer.
Because the terrace is set on several levels, the house is not really suited for small children.
